Description
The Helping Hands Community Trust is a local charity and was established in 1997 as a strategic partnership response to the need for free independent advice, care and support to impoverished and vulnerable residents, living within the Borough of Oadby and Wigston and beyond. To date the Trust has dealt with over 150,000 client enquiries utilising both paid and voluntary advisors and professional partners.
We are a charity founded by the community, owned by the community to serve the community.
MAIN SERVICES
Provision of free independent advice and support in relation to:
- welfare benefits and rights
- appeals and tribunals
- money management
- housing issues
- legal advice
- education, training and employment
- mental health support
- domestic abuse and violence
- gaining social inclusion
We work with a number of partner organisations who refer to us. However we also operate drop in centres at 3 locations currently
- Helping Hands South Wigston – Mon/Wed/Fri – 10am – 1pm
- Wigston URC (Long Street) – Thurs – 10am -1pm
- Trinity Methodist Church Oadby – Tues – 10am to 1pm
- The Well, Kibworth on the third Thursday of the month – 10am to 1pm
